Hi there!

Welcome to Truth or Consequences Brewing Company, where the beer can be as unexpected as the town.

Ales or Lagers? Light or dark? Easy-drinking or experimental? Floral or fruity? Belgian or Bock?

These are the big questions. What will you find here?

Big Questions require Great Beer.

Nana's Delight

Nana’s Delight is a Double IPA, an IPA variant known for its higher alcohol content (7.5-10%) and prominent American hops. The flavor and aroma are hop-driven, and you’ll detect a variety of citrus, floral, and tropical fruit. This is the first batch of beer we’ve brewed that used more than 1,000 lbs of barley, and that’s reflected in the 8.7% ABV.

On New Year’s Eve, the brewery hosted a fundraiser for MainStreet Truth or Consequences, a downtown revitalization nonprofit. For their silent auction, we contributed a ‘Golden Ticket’, which entitled the winner to collaborate with our brewing team. The winning bidder asked us to brew a beer inspired by Elysian Brewing’s Spacedust IPA to surprise his IPA-loving wife.

Big River India Brown Ale

Big River is an India Brown Ale, with the color and malt flavors of an American Brown Ale, and the hop profile of an IPA.  Some say it’s the best of both worlds – the body and hops of an IPA, complemented by the balanced chocolate richness of browns and porters.

Organic Crystal Ale

Light and refreshing, this British Golden Ale was produced with certified organic pale malt from England, and certified organic Azacca hops. British ale yeast contributes a hint of baking bread to the aroma, and the finishing hops evoke pineapple, guava, and other tropical fruits.

Southern New Mexico is geologically fascinating, with wide-ranging and rich deposits of fossils, fluorite, quartz, agate, carnelian, and amethyst.  Collectors often seek crystals for their beauty, and some believe that crystals have metaphysical properties that contribute to health and spiritual well-being.   We immersed a four pound crystal in the kettle while making this beer. Were any of its metaphysical properties conferred upon the beer?  Have a taste and let us know what you think.

Monticello Amber / Green Chile Amber

Also known as Red Ale, Amber Ales are darker than Pale Ales, but not as dark as Brown Ales, and are generally described as being medium-bodied and malty.  Typical American versions include a citrus hop aroma and flavor, though for the Monticello Green Chile Amber, we added locally roasted green chile instead of hops. The result is a rich, malty ale with a mild, smoky roastiness and a mellow green chile flavor.

Fireside Tripel

A Belgian Tripel is a strong pale ale brewed with Belgian yeast, which can add flavors of banana, clove, and pepper. The style gets its name from its higher alcoholic strength. Some say that its original brewers used triple the ingredients of their basic ale, or that their pale ale came in three versions, 3%, 6%, and 9% ABV. Sucrose (cane sugar) is often added to this style, to lighten body and increase alcohol – we used about 6% sugar and 94% malted barley. German noble hops balance the sweetness, resulting in a strong, warming elixir with plenty of fruity esters and not too sweet.

Honey Winter Ale

Winter Seasonals are traditionally full-bodied, warming, dark ales, often with specialty fermentables (such as maple syrup, honey, or molasses) and spices associated with the holiday season (like cinnamon, ginger, evergreen). We opted to use five gallons of Rio Grande Valley honey as both a fermentable and a flavoring component, and its warm floral sweetness really comes through in this strong dark ale.
